Event: Portugal Fashion SS16
This week was very exciting! I had the opportunity to go Portugal Fashion SS16 (an ANJE initiative) in Lisbon! This year's theme is Celebration as it completes 20 years.
The first show by Storytailors was at the Ritz Four Seasons Hotel. The location was beautiful in every detail and it matched the designs perfectly! The collection was inspired by the portuguese culture and history. This inspiration reflects itself through references of tiles and porcelain in the dresses and also through the predominant blue and white colours. I always feel like I'm in a tale when I see a storytailors' runway show, but this time it was an epic tale about our people and their amazing discoveries around the world. One thing I will always love about their collections is their ability to tell a story and ... the corsets of course!
After a reality check and a quick dinner, I went to Museu de História Natural e da Ciência for the second and third shows by Carla Pontes and HIBU. Carla Pontes' collection was very light and delicate with both neutral and blue tones which remind me of the sea. HIBU's collection had a japanese inspiration to it. The designs assembled samurai dresses and neutral colours were also present.
The last show (and my favourite one!) was Alves Gonçalves! I've been a fan of this duo for many seasons and they always surprise me! The collection was very feminine and I fell in love with all the sequins, flower prints and black vs white colours. I really liked the way they designed very feminine pieces but added edgier details to them and also matched pieces of clothing with different styles. The styling was spot on! I really loved the hairstyles with the side fringes and also the makeup (red lipstick everywhere)!
It was definitely a great evening that I won't forget anytime soon!

Esta semana foi mesmo entusiasmante! Tive a oportunidade de assistir ao Portugal Fashion Primavera-Verão 16 (uma iniciativa da ANJE) em Lisboa! O
tema deste ano era Celebration dado que o evento comemora os seus 20 anos.
O primeiro desfile de Storytailors foi no Hotel Ritz Four
Seasons. A localização era sublime em todos os detalhes e condizia com as peças
do desfile na perfeição. A coleção foi inspirada na cultura e história
portuguesas. Esta inspiração reflete-se nas referências a azulejos e porcelana
nos vestidos e também na predominância dos tons azul e branco. Nos desfiles de
Storytailors sinto sempre que estou no meio de um conto, só que desta vez era
um conto épico sobre os portugueses e as suas incríveis descobertas pelo mundo.
Uma coisa que vou sempre adorar nas suas coleções é a sua capacidade de contar
uma história e … os corpetes claro!
Depois de voltar à realidade e de um jantar rápido, fui para
o Museu de Historia Natural e da Ciência para o segundo e terceiro desfiles de
Carla Pontes e HIBU. A coleção de Carla Pontes era muito leve e delicada com
tons neutros e azuis que me lembram o mar. A coleção de HIBU tinha uma
inspiração japonesa. As peças assemelhavam-se a vestidos samurai e as cores
neutras estiveram também presentes.
O último desfile (e também o meu preferido!) foi Alves
Gonçalves! Tenho sido uma fã deste duo há muitas estações e surpreendem-me
sempre! A coleção foi muito feminina e adorei todos os padrões com flores,
lantejoulas e o contraste entre o branco e preto. Gostei imenso da forma como
produziram peças femininas, mas adicionaram-lhes detalhes ousados e de como
combinaram peças de estilos diferentes. Para além da coleção, o cabelo e
maquilhagem estavam mesmo bem (batom vermelho em todo o lado)!
Foi definitivamente uma noite fantástica que não vou
esquecer tão depressa!
